Personal Statement:
Even though I was born in Bombay, India, I am a true bred Texan as I have lived in Texas since January 1966. I grew up in Lubbock, Texas and my wife and I have enjoyed living in Dallas since July 1992. I developed an interest in medicine in high school but I did not pursue it until the middle of my college career at Texas Tech University where I received my bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. After completing medical school and residency at UTHSC at San Antonio, I finally settled on a career in general and interventional cardiology after completing my fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) in June of 1996. I have been in practice here at BUMC with HeartPlace since July of 1996. The field of cardiology perfectly matches my specific strengths and interests as a physician. The opportunity to practice state of the art cardiology at a state of the art hospital plus the opportunity to teach and mentor future physicians has been a great blessing in my life.
My current practice focuses both on general cardiology and specific complex heart diseases. This includes management of complex coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, ASD’s and PFO’s and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. I have specifically focused my practice on staying abreast of new cardiac (heart) procedures. Even though I enjoy the procedural aspects of my practice, I also enjoy general and preventative cardiology. I also have a great love for teaching and I am active in teaching the BUMC Internal Medicine residents and Cardiology fellows.
My wife, Sherrie and I have been married since 1988 and are active members of First Baptist Church of Dallas.
