Personal Narrative:
Raised in Dallas Dr. Snyder attended Jesuit College Prepatory. He developed an interest in medicine while working as an anesthesia technician in the OR at Medical City during his high school and college summers. Dr Snyder joined HeartPlace in 1996 opening the office at Medical City that same year. Although an interventionalist, he prides himself on being first and foremost a preventative specialist, emphasizing the prevention of disease primarily through risk factor modification, especially through diet and exercise. He is particularly involved in medical political advocacy. "Being an advocate for our patients must be much more than just words. We as physicians will have almost as much impact on the health care our patients receive in the legislative chambers as we have in the exam room". In his spare time he and his wife Dr. Shelley Hall MD, also a cardiologist with HeartPlace, enjoy spending time with their five children, Eileen, Bobby, Jessica, Alex and Nicholas.
