Dr. John Reuter


Dr. Reuter studied at Stanford University and received a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He then received a full tuition scholarship to study medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester. His cardiology fellowship was also at the University of Rochester, and he served as chief fellow from 2012-2013.

Dr. Reuter then moved to Plano, Texas and started practicing at the Baylor Plano office. He became board certified in cardiology and was awarded the FACC designation by the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Reuter is currently the senior physician in the Baylor Plano office. He has expertise in treating patients with cardiovascular disease, interpreting echocardiograms, stress tests, carotid ultrasounds, peripheral vascular studies, and rhythm monitors. He is also proficient in cardiac catheterization, including the radial (wrist) approach. He sees hospital patients at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Plano. 


Dr. Reuter is married to an orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Jennifer Chu) and they have three daughters: Ashleigh, Alison, and Abigail. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, attending his daughters’ soccer and basketball games, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
