ABOUT DR. ABROL:
Dr. Abrol was born and raised in Northern Virginia. His parents emigrated from India in the 1960s, and he is a proud first generation American. He studied on the east coast (Johns Hopkins, Emory University) prior to moving to Dallas in 1998. He finished his post graduate training at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and then went on to his Fellowship for Cardiac Electrophysiology at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Abrol joined HeartPlace as a clinical electrophysiologist in 2006.
He was named the Medical Center of Plano cardiologist of the year in 2009, and was subsequently named the director of the electrophysiology lab at MCP in 2010. Dr. Abrol has been recognized with many honors including D Magazine’s top Business leaders, D Magazine’s Best Doctors – Collin County, and has served as the President of the HeartPlace Board from 2013 until 2018.
He is currently the Chairman and President of Cardiovascular Provider Resources, the physician owned managing group of HeartPlace. In addition, he is on the Board of Directors of CardioVascular Care Providers. Dr. Abrol serves as the Governance Board Chairman of MedFinity Health Plano.
Dr. Abrol performs most arrhythmia-related procedures including tilt table testing, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, leadless pacemakers, cardioversions and ablations for all arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia. He also implants left atrial appendage occluder devices.
His hobbies include spending time with his high school aged kids. He is an avid golfer and enjoys attending numerous sporting events around the metroplex.
