Ahmed Selim, MD is a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Fort Worth Heart and Assistant Professor of Medicine at TCU’s Burnett School of Medicine. He is triple board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine.
At the heart of Dr. Selim’s practice is a deep commitment to his patients. He believes that truly great care begins with listening — taking the time to understand each patient’s unique concerns, goals, and life circumstances. He is known for building exceptionally strong relationships with his patients, and that dedication is consistently reflected in the warm, heartfelt feedback and reviews he receives. Patients frequently describe feeling genuinely heard, well-informed, and confident in their care.
Dr. Selim places great importance on patient education. He takes pride in making sure every patient fully understands their condition and the available treatment options — in plain, clear language — so they can make informed decisions and actively participate in their own care. This collaborative approach, combined with his personable and compassionate manner, creates an environment where patients feel supported every step of the way.
Clinically, Dr. Selim brings expert-level skill across the full spectrum of heart rhythm disorders, including complex ablations for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, device implantation, laser lead extraction, and left atrial appendage occlusion.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Selim is deeply committed to advancing medicine for the benefit of future patients. As an inventor and researcher, he has developed patented cardiovascular technologies and led federally funded research programs aimed at improving survival in sudden cardiac arrest. He pursued graduate-level studies in nanotechnology and microfluidics at Harvard University, completed specialized medical device innovation training at the University of Minnesota, and obtained a master’s in clinical Investigations from the University of Iowa — always driven by the belief that today’s research becomes tomorrow’s life-saving care.
