Leena Sharan, MD, is a double board-certified internal medicine physician who brings more than 15 years of experience in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology to HeartPlace, serving adults and teens at the Plano and Frisco, Texas, offices.

Dr. Sharan obtained her medical degree from Pramukhswami Medical College of India in Karamsad, Gujarat. Following graduation, she moved to the United States and completed an internship and residency at the University of Illinois in Champaign. Before entering private practice, Dr. Sharan finished a fellowship in cardiology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Sharan is fluent in English and Spanish. She is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and has a special interest in diagnosing and treating heart disease in women. 

Dr. Sharan has been named one of the “Best Doctors” by D Magazine on six separate occasions. She holds hospital privileges at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano, Medfinity Health Plano, Texas Health Allen, Texas Health Frisco, and Texas Health Plano.
