Marc Pieniek, MD, FACC, is board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and internal medicine. Dr. Pieniek joined HeartPlace in Plano, Texas, in 1996.
He completed his Bachelor of Science in biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine, also in Atlanta. Upon graduating, Dr. Pieniek completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He rounded out his training with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
He has been the Director of Echocardiography and is actively engaged in quality assessment conferences for physicians and sonographers. Dr. Pieniek has served in several leadership roles at HCA Medical City Dallas Hospital, including previous Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Director of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory. Dr. Pieniek additionally serves on the Performance Improvement Committee for Cardiology at HCA Medical City Dallas Hospital.
